Thermography Machine

This is a tabletop thermographic machine that is used for raised ink printing.  It is in excellent condition!  It has a temperature controlled heating function, as well as additional settings.  It comes with all of the manuals and paperwork. 

We used this for business cards and wedding invitations.  We have a digital duplicator that is used for the printing of the design on to the paper. 

Once the paper is printed on, we take them over to this thermographic machine, where it puts a powdered resin layer on to the wet ink.  Then, the thermography machine vibrates the excess powder off and it goes under the heating element.  As the ink and powder heat up, it 'raises' the print on the paper.  This is known as the thermographic process.

This thermography machine comes with powder in various sizes (for large graphic images to fine/small print text) ... all that you need is a machine that can provide you with 'wet' ink' (much like an offset printing press) ... a laser printer will NOT work.  The ink must be smearable or 'tacky' enough to let the powder adhere to it.

There are various powders that can leave glossy, flat, shiny, or dull/matte raised inks.  This machine is what gives those wedding invitations that raised ink feel.  It can be used for anything - business cards, diplomas, certificates, wedding invitations, announcements, or anything else that you want to give that 'fancy' look to.

I am selling my digital duplicator (also) so, if you are interested in that, you can find out more from my other listing.  Both of these machines, together, you could *easily* have an 'instant' business.  Thermography is a dying art ... as such, there are not many printers out there that have this capability.
